Peer review is a great way to enhance the skills of a writer. I, for one, was never really good at it, but this form of peer review really changed the way I approached my essays. It gave me a fresh perspective on my writing and I was able to figure out my strengths and my weaknesses. In this specific essay I was able to highlight areas of improvement while reading another person’s work. Giving feedback to someone else allowed me to think more on how I could improve my own essay. I realized the importance of understanding my audience, to write in a way that spoke to the viewers and the correct audience. However, this was the second peer review of the year and I felt more responsible to properly review the work of others. Instead of overlooking what I did right I improved what I was doing wrong with the help of someone else peer reviewing my essay. Without such collaboration I would not be able to fully figure out the weaknesses of my essay.
